February 06 American Desi!Helllooooo people!! It was lovely to hear from all you lads and fillies!! I was also amazed to see that unlike me most of your blogs are still alive and kicking, congratulations on that people!! Well it's another cold but sunny week here! The weekend was fun as usual! I went out with friends on Friday to watch Pan's Labyrinth - It's a must watch movie!! It is so well made!! I am rooting for it at the Oscars! Saturday saw the screening of Guru here! 300 odd Indians gathered at one place, it was funny! The movie was OK. After watching such an intense movie the previous night, Guru seemed so 'run of the mill'!! I would have enjoyed the movie better had I watched it another day. I have noticed that there are two kinds of Indians in the US - the overly patriotic and the extremely "un-patriotic" (btw what's the antonym of patriot??) !!! Let me explain - I happened to meet somebody in the cinema during the intermission and she asked me how I liked the movie. I replied saying after watching 1.5 hour English movies, sitting through a 3 hour movie is difficult! It was just said in jest and for the sake of conversation and boy did I get conversation!! She pounced on me with "subtle" questions like - " Why?.. didn't you watch hindi movies in India" which translates to "So, you come to the US and hindi movies are not "cool" anymore is it"!!!! Chill lady, I didn't mean to offend anybody!! I was glad when a friend came to my rescue and changed the topic!! In my defense I actually rented Babul and watched it Sunday before last!! If I willingly rented that movie it is clear proof that I am not prejudiced against hindi movies!! That stupid movie was three hours of nonsense!! Remind me to think and think again before I say anything about my country here! There are a lot of Indians here who complain about how other Indians bad mouth India all the time, about how its just a developing nation (just 50 years old) and then they go onto the "think about what America was fifty years after their independence" tangent!! They go on and on about the wonders of India! Then there are the second type who find it insulting to be "Indian"!! They think they are "cool and happening"!! You must listen to their accents, they even pronounce Indian names with an American accent!! Raj becomes Rash and Kumar becomes Coomaar!! They should be left to the mercy of Rajkumar fans in Bangalore!! The sad part is that their grammar is so atrocious, that even the most perfect accents can't save them!! To make a long story short - their whole life becomes a quest to ape the west!! I am a liberal Indian! I like my country, I love the culture, the flora and fauna, my family, friends, the freedom.. lots of stuff!! I don't like a lot of things about my country too!! Unless you work and experience the life of an average Indian citizen, you tend to overlook a lot of the bad things about the country! I don't like the fact that based on caste and religion the best colleges in India throw their doors open to you immaterial of your scores! I don't like paying taxes to the government when the government doesn't care two hoots about the average Indian! I don't like the public transport system and I definitely don't like auto drivers!! In a nutshell it's a likeable country with its share of good and bad!! You just have to live and let live with a clear conscience... I guess! Another funny thing I notice here is the "shaking hands dilemma" between Indian men and women!! I get introduced to a lot of people and I usually shake hands and say the usual "nice to meet you" dialogue!! When it comes to Indian men some of them shake hands and some don't!! It's embarrassing when you extend your hand and there isn't a similar gesture from the other side!! After umpteen such incidents, I have decided to wait until a hand is extended before doing so!! I hope to get my learner's licence this week!! I also need to buy a weighing machine to burst my "weight ignorance" bubble and hopefully it'll get me panicky enough to start visiting the gym regularly!! Fat is very tasty accessible in America - I live on chips, carbonated drinks and ice-cream!! Toodles people and Dreyer's Toffee bar crunch, here I come!! -- !!January 30 Back from beyond!!How long has it been since i made an entry?!! Seven months??? Ah, well
let bygones be bygones!! Methinks, me going to be regular henceforth!
Do I hear a snigger of disbelief somewhere...hmmm....well snigger not
folks coz I am on an indefinite holiday right now and can blog to my
heart's content!!
I went on a holiday to the Maldives, and boy was it beautiful!! It's a
must visit place!! The colour of the water takes your breath away!!
It's truly "heaven on earth"!! Well, I have a whole entry dedicated to
that holiday, it was truly awesome!! Everytime I visited some place
new, I always thought - "boy this would be such great stuff to blog"
and then laziness takes over and its the usual "LATER" thingi!!! Let me give you a sneak peek into my life the last seven months!! First and foremost I resigned - yayyyyyyy!! So currently like I said before I am on an indefinite holiday! I went around Maldives, Kerala, interior Karnataka and then decided I wanted to visit the United States of America!! So here I am sitting in my room, somewhere in Idaho and basically being lazy! The view from my window is incredible - there is the river flowing by and then a golf course and then the mountains!! I am eagerly waiting for the summer when I can wet my feet in the water!! There sure will be a post on the 'American' way of life!! I did a few things on my "Wish list" - scuba diving, snorkelling and skiing!! They were extremely exciting! I am trying to catch up on my reading - all that I missed while I was out working!! The publics libraries abroad are so well stocked unlike the ones in India!! I also watched a couple of movies!! I have decided to catch all the oscar nominated flicks before the Oscars!! I am done with The Queen, Little Miss Sunshine, Borat, Happy Feet, Cars, Monster house, The Devil wears Prada, Pirates of The Caribbean. There are loads left and hope to catch them soon. The next on my list are Babel and The Last King of Scotland. Speaking of movies, I went and wathced The Epic Movie and argggggggggg!! What was I thinking!! Its pathetic!! Nine dollars down the drain!! I am trying to upload some pics from my Maldives vacation and its taking its own sweet time!! Well I got to stop now if I want to get some blog hopping done before I start reading the driver's manual!! I have to take my licence test soon and start driving!! I am completely stranded without my licence!! Anyway I am off now!! Ciao people! ![]() !!June 07 Birdy Trouble!!![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and an
My god, how long has it been since I opened my blog?!! Life sure is busy nowadays! I miss returning home before the sun sets! I am so sleepy right now, yawwwnnnnnnnn!! I was woken up by the birds at 3AM today! Normally I am unaware of the world until 6AM, but today there was this one rambunctious cuckoo Ah, well, it’s going to be another month of slogging it out Enough of my rambling!! I just wanted to let people know I haven’t abandoned my blog!! You’ll see an occasional ramble until I make a comeback ![]() http://www.millan.net/ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() May 17 Search Engines 2!
Gosh, I get stuck every evening in the rain!! I invariably forget my umbrella and return home drenched!! I am all prepared for the rain today, bring it on!!! Last weekend I went to Legends of Sikander for dinner! The food is good although pricey! I loved the biryani! I also managed to catch 36 China Town - that was ok too!! What I love about the movies is the popcorn and the big pepsi! I hate eating it one at a time, I am more of the 'stuff my mouth' kind!! I don't like popcorn unless I am watching a movie!
![]() ![]() May 11 Summer days??![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It’s strange how an increase in workload is both a good thing and a bad thing!! Good thing because you don’t know how time passes by when you do something interesting and bad thing because there is no time to do anything else!! I hardly spend time at home anymore!! Home feels more like a hotel!! I leave by about 7:45AM and return only after 9:30PM!! There’s just enough time to grab a bite of dinner before I hit the sack!! Well the project I’m a part of will hopefully finish in the last week of June and I can look forward to some breathing time and blog my heart out!! I had a nice long May 1st
weekend! I visited Kerala and boy did I have fun?!! I managed to meet two of my
friends from high-school by the Arabian sea and we cracked up recalling all the
crazy stuff we did when we were in school!! I also attended a wedding and
reception there. It was beautiful!! I love Kerala, I’ve always got happy
memories about that place!! I went on a shopping spree in Cochin with my
brother and we were surprised to see how quickly we could spend money!! I also
managed to watch Ice-Age2 during the weekend, I pulled my mum along for company
and she slept through most of the movie!! I loved the sloth, Sid, he’s so
cute!! Oh, I must add it was hot and very humid!! Actually it was as hot as
Bangalore only more humid!! It looks like the rains are here to stay in Bangalore!! It’s a welcome change after the hot sultry summer!! Gosh it's hot in this place!! The downside is water clogged roads, snail-slow traffic and auto drivers having a gala time charging poor helpless customers exorbitantly!! If I could exterminate a species from planet earth it would be the ‘auto drivers junta’!! They are such a selfish, dishonest, nauseating bunch!! Arggggg… Anyways yesterday while I
was browsing the i-tunes store I came across a bunch of old English numbers I
haven’t heard in a longtime!! I’m in the mood for a feel-good movie!! Oh, btw guys my
blog-hopping has come to a standstill
now, free-time like I said is still elusive! So if I don’t comment or
visit your space as regularly as I did , like they say in Bangalore ‘swalpa
adjust maadi’ (kindly adjust)!! Anyways I’m gonna scoot now!! Hope to be more
regular from the month of July, until then keep visiting – I’ll try putting up
stuff once a week!![]() ![]() May 04 Tagged!

April 26 Thanks people!![]() ![]() Howdy people!! My blog turned one two weeks ago, hmmmm, a year since I ventured into ‘blogland’!! My blog is going through a pretty lean phase now, I know I have pushed it way back on my current P.O.A!! Well unfortunately my workload has increased tremendously, I am moving houses and nearly everybody I know is suddenly getting married!!! I find myself desperately looking for some spare time to post an entry, unfortunately, that little bit of spare time is like the ever elusive mirage!! So until I am up and raring to go let me introduce you to my partner in crime - “Crabby Cancerian” !! Now Crabz and I are in the midst of a deal where he agrees to take care of my blog until I return. If the deal comes through (he seems pretty reluctant now, crabby, lazy thing that he is!!) I’ll introduce you to him before I take off for a short break from blogand!! I absolutely love blogging and can’t dream of shutting my blog down!! I am glad I decided to give blogging a shot coz I sure have come across a lot of interesting fellow/felli-bloggers !! Through the year many have stopped to say Hi - some stayed, some disapperared!! So here’s a big thank you to all for taking the time out to read my entries and leave comments!! It’s definitely the best part about blogging!! So here’s a list of most of my visitors with a small message from me!! If I have missed out anybody please please forgive me – I am a little pre-occupied right now and I’m growing old J !! Thank you guys and gurlz and hope to see much more of you in the coming year!!!
![]() ![]() ![]() April 11 Ahem! turns one!!!![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() March 31 I'm alive!!![]() Ok, Ok , I see it, I know my blog’s screaming for an update right now!! Well, honestly, have a lot on my plate right now and my blog somehow has taken a backseat!! Will try not to push it way behind!!! First of all I am super glad it’s almost the weekend, yayyyyyyyy!! Wow, just four working days this week! It’s my cousin’s wedding in a couple of months and every spare second is spent in wedding preparations!! I enjoy being a part of it sometimes and absolutely hate it sometimes!! The part I completely hate right now is I have been put on a diet, reason being, I have to carry off the ghaghra , I will be in 'with grace' , on the wedding day, (and FYI I am not obese!!) argggggggg!!! I enjoy family get togethers where all the ‘elders’ are in serious conversation about the wedding and cousins fool around!! Ok enough of my rambling....I promise to upadate the coming week!! I am sorry guys, I haven't blog-hopped in quite sometime now!! I am dying to check out all your spaces... OK, I am making a resolve right now - It's blog, blog and more blog from Monday onwards!! Usually I love my ‘home alone’ moments, where I overdose on junk food, Pepsi and the telly!! Those are some of the best days of my life!! This particular time, as usual after dinner at around 8:00PM I took my dog out for a walk and when I returned home my dog refused to come in! I hooked up the leash onto her collar and tried to pull her, but she looked terrified and slipped put of her collar and ran about 400 meters away from the front door and stood there watching me!! I tried to coax her in, tried to bribe her with a biscuit but nothing seemed to work!! So last option, I lifted I think about 20+ Kgs of fat and took her into the house. She immediately tried to run out of the door, but I managed to lock her in! She stood there in the corridor in a corner and kept staring up into thin air as her ears drooped and the fur on her back stood up!! I started freaking out coz I knew she was very scared and she acted like seeing something or somebody I couldn’t see!! All the scary stories about dogs being able to see ghosts etc made me want to run out of the house too!! She stuck to me like glue wherever I went!! It was funny coz she kept bumping into my legs as soon as I stopped!! I called my parents immediately and wailed about doggy acting weird. My mum laughed her heart out and my brother asked me to check if there was blood running out of the taps and strange rattling noises in the house!! That was it, I yelled at my mum and told her I was serious! My mother asked me to check the terrace and balcony doors upstairs to make sure nobody was there and asked me to turn off the lights and go to sleep. I asked them to give me a buzz at about 10PM to make sure I was not the next victim of some deranged invisible killer !! Climbing up the stairs that night was one of the scariest moments of my life!! I closed my eyes and when I reached upstairs switched on all the lights and was relived to see all the doors shut and the place quiet and peaceful!! I ran downstairs and crashed in my parents room with my dog under the bed!! My parents called me as promised at 10PM and boy was I glad to see myself still alive!! My dog seemed much more normal and stopped sticking to me everywhere I went!! I was so glad to wake up the next morning and see the sun !!
I think that was the closest I came to saying hello with the 'scary unknown forces'!!I remember stories about our classrooms built over graveyards and strange ‘exaggerated’ happenings!! The funny part is every school seems to be built on a graveyard!! Ask any student and they’ll narrate ghastly stories about school!! Oh yes, there is another thing, sometime when I was in school I remember this widespread panic in Bangalore about ghost/s who visited your house and murdered all the occupants of the house! The only solution was to scribble ‘naleba’ (come tomorrow) on your front doors!! The ghost supposedly was stupid enough to read those words and return the next day and read those words again and being the polite thing that it is make a complete fool out of itself!! That was an interesting week in Bangalore!! Sadly we didn’t scribble those words on our door and no ghost took the time off to visit us!! There was another time in college when T and I were walking back to the hostel at about 8:30 PM and decided to take a shortcut to make it in time before the gates closed at 9PM. This shortcut was a deviation from the main road onto a pitch dark mud path, which ran side by side with the wall of the graveyard behind our college campus! Fear of the hostel warden was greater than the fear of dead souls at that moment!! We held hands firmly and started our brisk walk down the muddy road! T had to mention at that precise moment about how her boyfriend heard the sound of anklets the previous night when he was walking down this road!! That did it, I broke out into a sprint pulling T along and suddenly we slowed down and our hearts froze!! We saw this small spec of light, it looked like a button size ball of fire floating in air, coming towards us. It was too late to turn back as we had made it through more than half the road!!! We held hands more firmly and walked bravely towards the spec of light, the tension was getting too much….we quickened our pace and suddenly this man emerged out of the darkness with a ‘beedi’ perched on his lips!! This brought out loud peals of laughter from both of us and the poor old man look baffled!! We broke out into a sprint again and made it in time to the hostel!!
I have never ventured into graveyards or spooky places like some people I know, to be frank I have had most of my scary encounters with real human beings than the unreal!! Now do I believe in ghosts, life after death etc is a topic for another blog entry! Maybe there is , maybe there isn’t!! Whatever it is I don’t think I want to meddle with their ‘after-lives’ as much as I don’t want them to meddle with my current life!!![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() March 09 Search Engines!
I notice of late that there are some weird keywords
actually!! I am going to try and make this a monthly column !! Search on people!! -- ![]() ![]() March 06 Care for a Cartoon?Crunch-munch, crunch-munch, ‘What’s up Doc’?? Thank you for all the 'get well soon' wishes!! I am back from ‘gloom land’, hale and hearty and with some cartoon fun!! I love cartoons, big fan! There was a time, a couple of years ago, when Cartoon network was the only thing I watched on TV!! Offlate I have lost touch with Cartoon network. I tuned in on the channel over the weekend and was surprised to find that I had no clue about majority of the characters on screen! I am familiar with the cartoon network which aired Swatkats, Johnny Quest, Lulu, Popeye, Loony toons , Captain Planet, Jetsons, Flinstones, etc.! I loved Chilly-Willy, Pink Panther, Augie-Doggie and Doggy Daddy and many more absolutely delightful characters!
The first cartoons I watched were probably Mickey mouse and He-Man. I remember they used to be aired on Sunday mornings on DD before the ‘cable days’!! That one hour every kid in the neighborhood would be glued to TV. Then as I grew up I watched a lot of the Hanna-Barbera. How I wished I had gadgets like the Jetsons and brains like Dexter!! How I wished I could join Johnny and Hadji in their exciting adventures and live in a magical land like the Smurfs!! Alongside there were the Warner Bros. characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, Road Runner etc. I really loved the baby Loony Toons characters, very cute!! I remember humming ‘Scooby-Dooby Doo where are you, we got some work to do now…’ and imitating Elmer Fudd's immortal line “You wascawwy wabbit”!! Pinky and the brain usually had me in splits!! I always felt bad for Sylvester and the Wile E. Coyote, I wonder how they remained upbeat despite constant failure! My all-time favorite Marvin Martian and K9 his space dog, they were such a team !!
How can I forget MGM with Tom and Jerry, Droopy, Spike, Tyke and Happy Harmonies!! To be frank I never liked Tom and Jerry!! I hate Jerry, he always seems to get away with everything and poor poor Tom!! I liked those few episodes where Tom and Jerry work together and are friends and here too I liked the Tom and Jerry Kids series better!! Droopy with that deadpan face and pearls of wisdom, excellent!! Then there was Paramount studios with Popeye, Felix and Little Lulu. I remember my mum stuffing us with palak saying we would be strong like Popeye if we gobbled it down!! Chilly Willy, Woody Woodpecker and Oswald from Universal studios were some of my favorites too! Here again I must admit that I found Woody getting onto my nerves on numerous occasions!! His famous ‘laugh’ is playing in my head right now!!
Last but definitely not the least my all-time favorite Walt-Disney!! Where do I start?? Mickey mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Chip n Dale, Clarabelle Cow, Huey, Dewey and Louie and hundreds of others!! I don’t mind watching them over and over again!! Number Uno on my list would be the animated movies - Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Snow-White, Bambi, Lion King, Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, Jungle Book, Mulan, and the list goes on!! They sure have brought out the magic in Fairytales!! Every character they spin out is so memorable!! They sure are the best!!
Ice-Age from 20th Century Fox and Shrek are some of my recent favorites!! There are loads of them I still have to catch like The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, The Corpse Bride, Brother Bear, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Madagascar, Shark-Tale. I will sometime soon, I know I will!! Two studios, which have caught my attention, recently are DreamWorks and Pixar!! I love the boy fishing from the crescent moon and the jumping desk-lamp!! They seem to be churning out some delightful stuff!!
Anyways my point is that
nowadays ‘Anime’ seems to be the ‘cartoon’ of the day!! I just can’t seem to
take a liking to these Japanese characters!! They are so lanky and have ‘sharp
edges’ and huge eyes!! I don’t quite like their exaggerated expressions, which
is typical of ‘anime’!! They are always screaming and so screechy!! Most of the kids nowadays seem to be
addicted to these characters! Am I the only one or do I have company when I say
I dislike this new breed of ‘anime’ cartoons?? What say people??
March 01 Feeling blueeeeeeee..
Almost a
week and a half without ‘blog-hopping’ is getting to me!! Sighhh..I think
I’m a blog-addict!! Anyways been out of action for over a week and still ‘under
weather’!! Viral fever, allergic bronchitis, sinusitis are bad enough when they
strike separately but when they join hands, believe me it’s BAD!! My head feels
like an anvil and I’m sure I’m going to cough my lungs out very soon!! My nose
never felt fuller!! Okey, illness apart I did catch up on a lot of telly last week apart from books and sleep!!! I watched this show called ‘The Fabulous Life’ on VH1 where they show the lifestyle of the rich and famous! Last week it was Britney Spears!! She actually spent a hundred thousand dollars in a store in 45 minutes!! She spends 600$ on a pair of shoes and goes in for a 7500$ haircut where the stylist uses a 3000$ handcrafted scissor!! The super rich sure have it all!! I know most of us will get down to the argument – “They have money but miserable lives” etc etc. So I have decided I want to be super-duper rich but not famous!! I don’t want anybody to know I am Miss Richy Rich, so that solves most problems!! I managed to catch the season finale of friends on Zee on Sunday! The funny thing was I watched Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya after that only to realize that the last scene in the movie is a dialogue by dialogue rip-off from the second last episode of Friends!! Headaches,
blocked noses and workplace don’t go together!! Cherry on the cake is I have the blues too!! Maybe it’s a side
effect of the illness but right now I seem to be unhappy with everything and
life as a whole seems very sad!! Bleh bleh Okey, I
do not want to spread gloom!! It’s only
‘Flu effect’ hopefully!! I’ll be back soon sans gloom!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Happius Birthdaycus!!![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() February 20 – March 20

I should have posted this entry on Feb 20th, but as they say better late than never!! Happy Birthday people! ![]() ![]() PS: Not my birthday today guys, I should have posted this on 20th Feb because its the beginning of the picscean month , but couldn't!! Ok, my birthday is yet to come February 22 Lady justice at her impartial best!!Indian Judicial System - I don't know the intricacies but from what I hear and read its usually a totaly failure!! I was shocked to hear that all accused in the Jessica Lal case were acquitted! OH MY GOOD LORD what happened to justice??!! A young model filling in as a celebrety bartender in a high society party, shot dead, point blank in front of at least a hundred people and the murdere is set free! Reason cited - No evidence!! We are living in the 21st century with technology advances by the minute. How could the police not collect any evidence?? Most of us have watched 'Medical Detectives' or something on those lines on Discovery channel. If they can suspect and prove a homicide from a confirmed suicide case that took place about five years ago, I am sure there is more than one way to prove the murderer guilty in Jesicca Lal's case!
All witness turn hostile - so the rich and famous don't have a conscience after all!! Its the same old story again! All evidence vanishes and all witness turn hostile because the main accused happens to be associated with the 'politician'! Its sad to see that money and power lets you get away with anything, even murder!! Come to think of it, I don't blame witness who turn hostile!! They usually get harassed and have to present themselves in court at all odd hours which effects their daily routine negatively! Now if the 'rich and famous' are the guilty party its only natural that all witness get threatened or paid to keep shut! Think about it- will you stand up for a third person when the lives and well being of your loved ones are at stake?!! The answer is no, its only natural that the witness turn hostile! More than fifty years of independence and we still don't have a concrete witness protection act??? Helooooo, what are the lawmakers upto? Everybody is aware of this loophole, so why don't the concerned people do something about this?
Then comes the question of lawyers! Is it really true that they sell their conscience to the devil? How can you support and defend a person who has murdered an innocent girl? Don't they have an iota of humaneness in them? Who knows, maybe they are forced and threatened into doing it as well! I guess we should give them the benefit of doubt.
Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely!! Red tape, corruption, bribes, nepotism have a cancerous grip on today's society. Its so deep rooted that its almost impossible to cure!! I don't see a solution without negative repercussions. My teacher once told me that the conscience is like a triangle. Everytime you err it turns one full circle and its edges prick you. You feel guilty doing the wrong thing. If you make a habit of erring then the triangle turns continuously and its edges wear out!! You feel nothing and end up losing your conscience!! So people when in doubt don't!! Precaution is definitely better than cure. Lets try to inculcate a sense of 'just' in our lives and yeah live and let live!! February 17 Friday already!!
I met up with my friend from school last weekend! It was great catching up on eight years!! I also got to know the whereabouts of a couple of other friends!! One of them is a hairstyle and make-up artist and her latest project is Karan Johar's 'Kabhie Alvida na Kehna'!! She has movies like Musafir, Rules- Pyaar ka superhit formula and Mai Hoon Na on her resume!! I also heard that another friend got hitched last November and her wedding ghagra cost a whooping one ONE LAKH rupees!! All I could say was OH MY GOOD GOD, ONE LAKH!!! I have to ask her to send me pics of her ghagra, I sure do want to see One Lakh in the form of a skirt!! We went to Chandini Chowk in Koramangala for dinner on Saturday, pretty nifty place! Food is good and the ambience pretty rustic with a touch of Bollywood!! They sure have saved on interiors with bandhini dupattas and stone seating!! I did my usual 'novel' shopping and bought a Clive Cussler apart from a book called Holy Cow!! This book caught my eye two years ago in a bookstore abroad coz it had a blue "Lord Shiva' on its cover page!! It’s an Australian lady's experience in India and how she absolutely hates India!! Its a laughing riot although a little exaggerated!! I will post a review on the book soon!! I must remember to stop
buying books in Landmark and try the ordinary bookshops where books are much
cheaper!! I was quite amazed to find that a hundred page Roald Dahl or Gerald
Durrell costs twice the amount compared to a Clive Cussler !! I love books!! I
believe they transport you into a completely different world! I also love
owning a copy of all my favorite books! I like keeping all my books in ‘brand
new’ condition! I hate dog-ears or damaging a book. I usually do not lend my
novels because I end up getting back a really ‘worn out’ book!! I wish somebody,
one day, gifts me a bookshop!! That would be a dream come true! Imagine getting
an opportunity to check out every new book and help people buy books – Dream
Job!! ![]() Anyways people kick up your
legs and relax ‘coz it’s the weekend again!!
The week sure has flown by!! Hope you have two fun filled holidays!! Go
break a leg people!! ![]() February 16 Pony express?![]() E-mail / Snail-mail? I choose snail mail!! I love all the different types of stationery, perfumed letter pads, its got a charm of its own!! I like receiving and writing hand written letters! They have a more personalized touch to them!! Back in school we had the last hour on Thursdays as letter writing periods!!! I loved writing to my parents and decorating my letters with colourful pictures and stickers!! I was rummaging through my parent’s cupboard the other day and found a huge stack of letters, my brother and I wrote from school!! I must say, reading some of the stuff my brother wrote in class one was pretty hilarious and his ‘work of art’ was even better!! Recently I visited the post-office near my place of work to mail some stuff and was shocked at the state of the dilapidated building! There was an absolutely bored lady behind the counter doodling away on her note pad and yawning loudly!! Me: I want to post these please I have an aversion towards government employees everywhere!! Most of them are inefficient, lazy and a shining example of ‘corrupt’!! This incident just strengthened my aversion!! E-mails suddenly seemed a better option now!! On second thoughts I don’t think I’ll let that crazy hag at
the post-office affect my liking for snail-mail!! E-mail can never replace the
‘sentiments’ attached with snail-mail!! Plus my mum called saying I have a package waiting for me at home ![]()
February 14 For someone very special...I am lying alone with my head on the phone
Thinking of you till it hurts I know you're hurt too but what else can we do Tormented and torn apart I wish I could carry your smile in my heart For times when my life seems so low It would make me believe what tomorrow could bring When today doesn't really know, doesn't really know I'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you I know you were right, believing for so long I'm all out of love, what am I without you I can't be too late to say that I was so wrong I want you to come back and carry me home Away from this long lonely nights I'm reaching for you, are you feeling it too Does the feeling seem oh, so right And what would you say if I called on you now And said that I can't hold on? There's no easy way, it gets harder each day Please love me or I'll be gone, I'll be gone I'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you I know you were right, believing for so long I'm all out of love, what am I without you I can't be too late to say that I was so wrong Ooh, what are you thinking of What are you thinking of What are you thinking of what are you thinking of
February 10 Yada yada, giggle, giggle..![]() ![]() I have a friend from boarding school coming over to stay the weekend with me!! Haven't met her in eight years, so folks its eight long years of gossip to catch up on (I know all the guys are going to have a field day with the word gossip)!! Just Like Heaven has finally arrived in PVR, horrahhh!! I gotta catch that one!! Apart from that there is that little bit of Friday evening shopping with my mum and new things are such a delight!! I must admit all of a sudden I have this urge to splurge everywhere I go and it makes my end of the month accounting a misery!! The smallest of things seem to evoke bouts of giggles from me today. I think its the 'weekend high'!! I was banned from many cubicles today for spreading my disease!! Why couldn't it be five holidays and two working days, there would be so much more joy in the world Anyways have a good weekend and loads of cheer to all!! . |
